Using an approach that incorporates past and present perspectives and orientations for engagement that lead to more productive future awareness , Steve Stitt,LCSW-R, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides integrative psychotherapy / hypnotherapy with holistic and cultural sensitive sensibilities and aware approaches that incorporate cognitive behavioral and other modalities that promote self-awareness and mindfulness.  His private office setting in a comfortable and convenient location is located on the upper westside of Manhattan near primary subway and bus transportation.  Initial consultations are geared to assisting the client in identifying presenting and possible underlying issues geared to setting a tone for future engagement.  Office hours are client friendly, Monday thru Thursday from 12 Noon to late evenings, Fridays until early afternoon possibly. In private practice for approximately 25 years Mr. Stitt works with individuals, couples, parents with parenting issues, older adolescents and young adults, and also provides cultural sensitive groups for men, especially those dealing with anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues.  His engagement approaches and stylings also work with those dealing with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues related to work and personal relationships as well as incorporating a sense of holistic / spiritual understandings of the self.

Professional Activities and Memberships

Over the course of his career Steve Stitt has provided extensive consultant and training services. Ranging from topics that address parenting, especially fatherhood initiatives, anti-racism, addressing race, culture  and structural racism as well staff development and clinical consultation dealing with conflict resolution, anger management and cultural diversity, Mr. Stitt has made numerous presentations at conferences and workshops on topics ranging from domestic violence, abuse, anger / rage as well as services to men, especially men of color and issues related to cultural competency across the age, race and gender spectrum.
